I also liked the amount of collateral damage he caused at the beginning of the film and the real-world reactions to it. One of the things you learn as a comic book fan is that you probably wouldn't want to live in a city where they fight crime. They cause millions in damage every time the fight some supervill
After learning that Watchmen: https://Superheromoviespot.Com The Director's Cut will be coming to DVD/Blu-ray (and three movie theaters) this month, we now have the first details of what Watchmen: Ultimate Collector's Edition will be all about, as well as a highly-anticipated deleted scene from the full-length film: Check out the death of Nite Owl!It's funny, last week I wrote a post about the new scenes featured in Watchmen: The Director's Cut . In that post I made special mention of the fact that in the Watchmen graphic novel, one of the keystone story elements was the life (and subsequent violent death) of Hollis Mason, the first Nite Owl, who is wonderfully portrayed in the film (and the "Under The Hood" documentary tie-in) by Stephen McHat
The Scream 2009 nominees were chosen by the Advisory Board of Hollywood and Genre Leaders, a list which this year includes the likes of Wes Craven, Roland Emmerich, Neil Gaiman, Frank Miller, Eli Roth and Zack Snyder, plus many more. The event will be taped on Saturday, October 17th this year at The Greek Theater in Los Angeles, and will air on Spike TV ten days later on Tuesday, October 27th (check for local tim
That's right: It seems Watchmen: Ultimate Collector's Edition Blu-ray will go on sale around the holidays and only be available until the end of June, 2010! If that's the case, then Watchmen fans better get it while it's
Movies worth noting that are missing from that top 10 list include The Happening (huge stinker for Shyamalan), The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (couldn't bring myself to watch it), 10,000 B.C. (do I even need to comment on this one?), Speed Racer (LSD trip for kids), and Hellboy II: The Golden Army (too niche, I suppo
The public has just about had it with him and it's the last straw when he causes massive damage to a freight train while saving the life of Ray Embrey (played by Jason Bateman). Embrey has visions of saving the world through marketing but is pretty much a Quixotic character since his ideas are so outrageous to the corporate execs to whom he makes his pitches. In Hancock, he sees a great opportunity to do good, and to help him as well in exchange for saving his l
Lost should win Best TV Show (I love Dexter , but it's no Lost ); Best Horror Movie should go to Let The Right One In (I would say Drag Me To Hell , but since that's a comedy too, Let The Right One takes it for me); Best Actor in a Fantasy Movie Or TV Show should go to Brad Pitt for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button ; and Best Comic Book Movie should (EASILY) go to Watchm
Along with the awards, the show will also be airing some exclusive, world premiere of footage of some of the most anticipated movies of 2010! Presenters and musicians for the event are to be announced shor
There's been much talk about a sequel to the 2008 surprise superhero hit, Hancock , with conversation picking up particularly when it comes to the cast of Will Smith, Charlize Theron and Jason Bateman possibly returning to do another. Director Peter Berg said a few months ago that everyone was excited to return , but not long after that Bateman came out and said he hadn't heard anything about him returning (we're still not sure if that cluelessness was applicable to Smith and Theron, t
Also, despite the "cool factor," Wanted didn't manage to beat underdog summer flick The Incredible Hulk . I guess more people thought it was ridiculous ( as I did ) than thought it was "awesome, dude!". However superhero movie fans across the land can weep in unison at the fact that Hulk was not able to defeat three hip, New York City powershopping babes on the prowl for true l
We also had the chance to see the long awaited Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull , the latest Pixar flick Wall-E , Will Smith as a superhero in Hancock , Angelina Jolie as an assassin in Wanted , Hellboy II: The Golden Army . To keep us laughing we had Tropic Thunder , The Pineapple Express (which I haven't seen) and Get Sma
The problem with Hancock is that whenever he perpetrates his acts of "heroism," he causes mass collateral destruction, which is displayed in spades at the start of the film as he apprehends the carload of bad guys. I have to pause here and say that I thought that the flying scenes at the start of this movie were some of the best and most "real" I've seen - very nicely done and if you're a superhero movie fan you'll take not
The Dark Knight was this summer's box office juggernaut, and no doubt will be the year's biggest earner. The big surprise of the summer (and the film that kicked it all off) is Iron Man , which came in second and actually beat Indy 4 in the US! That speaks to both how great Iron Man was and how poor an addition the latest Indiana Jones movie was to the original tril
