Twitter user Teyvettabloid posts an image of the desert area, and how it will appear connected to Sumeru as it is currently known. Supposedly, the zone will feature 16 Teleportation Waypoints, 3 Domains, and 3 new Statues of Seven. This region looks to be one of the largest expansions to a map thus far, dwarfing the size of the smaller regions introduced through patches. Though it's currently hard to tell, with the beautiful desert themes, and the contrast they bring to current Sumeru region's lush jungles , this zone may be one of the best in terms of gameplay and exploration potential.   
This new zone, like most others, will feature new materials, boss fights and creatures, and creatures that provide important materials to ascend new characters like Cyno and Candace. A new bug, similar to the Onikabuto will make an appearance as an ascension material for Cyno, as well as a strange metallic core for Nilou, which will come from a new boss, Blightdrake. Pictures of this boss have been leaked by Twitter user Genshinmains showing off their unique design which features the more metallic and robotic side of the Sumeru region, very unlike the plant-based bosses from before.

Genshin Impact 3.1 Leaks: New Event   
  
While not much has been released about upcoming Genshin Impact 3.1 events, it is known that they will be taking place in Mondstadt - or at least themed around the region. Teyvettabloid again leaks pictures of what the event banner should look like. Featuring Bennett and Klee in the art, as well as the green colors that represent the Anemo element, this event very clearly is going to take the Traveler away from Sumeru and back to the region that started their adventure.   
The event apparently will have the Traveler questing around Mondstadt, capturing boars, and sneaking around birds. The event title, which has been leaked as "Of Ballads and Brews," points to the potential that it is related to food, which makes sense with the leaked animal capturing screenshots, as well as being related to Anemo user Venti, the bard , or Barbara, the idol.
